Are you suffering with Panic Attacks, Agoraphobia, or Phobias?

 1. Do you experience severe fear or discomfort that seems to come from “out-of-the-blue” and peaks within ten minutes?

2. Do you experience four or more of the following symptoms during this ten minute period?

Chest pain or other chest discomfort

Chills or hot flashes

Choking sensations

Derealization (feeling unreal) or depersonalization (feeling detached from self)

Dizzy, lightheaded, faint, or unsteady feelings

Fear of dying

Fears of loss of control or becoming insane

Heart pounding, racing, or skipping beats

 Nausea or other abdominal discomfort

Numbness or tingling

Sweating

If you have answered yes to 1 and 2 with at least four of the above symptoms, with the attacks occurring once or more within a month,  then you are experiencing panic attacks.

 These attacks may occur by themselves, or may be brought on by situations eg., such as driving your car or entering into a supermarket or may be brought on when confronted by the stimulus.

 If you have experienced one or more of these attacks for a month or more, if you have started to avoid people, places or things where these attacks have occurred; then you may be experiencing panic disorder with agoraphobia.

Do you worry about the significance of these attacks or the consequence regarding your health, sanity or staying in control?

Are you doing anything to avoid or fight these attacks?  Is your behavior changing?

Are you expecting these attacks to occur?  Do you now worry as to when and where they might happen?

Are you avoiding situations where these attacks have occurred?

Are you worried that escape from a situations may be difficult or embarrassing?

Are you feeling like you are trapped, dying, or going crazy?

Do you take someone with you to enter feared situations where these attacks have previously occurred?
