This is Harold. Harold lives at the Arkansas Plant and Wildlife Center at Queen Wilhemenia State Park in Mena, AR. The Center is a rehab center for wildlife. Unfortunately, Harold will never be returned to the wild due to needing a titanium pin to mend his hip after being rescued as a cub. Harold was kidnapped from his den as a baby by a man repelling down the face of a cliff. He was stuffed in the mans backpack and then climbed out as the man continued to repel. Harold fell 20 feet and broke his hip. He was then gathered up by the repeller and taken home to live with a litter of pit bulls. (Later to have all infected parvo virus). When rescued, Harold was 2 months old with a broken hip and parvo virus. Due to the titanium pin that was put into his hip after being rescued, he will never be able to be returned to the wild.

He lives at the center and is used for educational purposes. Harold has to be fed enough food to help him reach hibernation. If he doesn't receive enough food to hibernate, he will need to be fed all winter.

I have adopted Harold and will put him on my websites in an effort to raise money for him and his other animal friends at the center.

The unfortunate thing about the center is that it receives no funds from the State of Arkansas. It has been in existence only three years, existing ONLY on private donations and gate admissions. The center rehabilitates thousands of native animals annually.

You can also help by forwarding this info to all you know. Let's really spread the word about the "Adopt Harold and Friends program!" Harold's kidnapper spent 18 months in jail for his crime but inocent Harold is doing a LIFE sentence behind bars!!

Thanks for taking the time to learn about this worthwhile cause. For more information contact the Center directly.

Harold's Friends

This is Freedom.  He is a bald eagle that was shot down from the sky.
When we were there, we couldn't get any closer to get a better picture.
Freedom was rehabilitated and was due to be released.
