Testimony of success through phone therapy!

From: V.G.

The following testimony comes from an Indiana telephone client. Once housebound and limited to the degree that she could travel from home, she now tells of her accomplishments gained through counseling. I have had the pleasure of meeting ìV.G.î during one of my automobile trips from Arizona to Massachusetts. I stopped to meet her while crossing the country. V.G. is a true testimony to the success of telephone counseling! She writes: ìI just donít know where to begin. Cynthia Ashley has helped me so much. Without her I would not be writing you a success story today. Her telephone therapy changed my life. Sure, I was apprehensive at first because I wasnít sure that telephone therapy could work. Believe me it does work and my life is worth living today.î ìI had my first panic attack more than twenty-six years ago. I lived with it for twenty years before I found Cynthia. I had been to more than six therapists, two of which were psychiatrists and none of them understood what I was going through. I suffered from Agoraphobia. My life was miserable and I just wanted to die. When I saw Cynthiaís add in the ADAA Reporter Newsletter I clung to the hope that this may be the answer. Believe me, she was an angel from heaven. I finally found someone who understood what I was going through.î ì Since I started therapy with Cynthia I have graduated from college with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and I have traveled to sixteen states in the last two years. It is a miracle to me because I use to be house bound. I couldnít go anywhere. It was hard for me to even go to my sonís baseball games which were only a half mile away. I couldnít go on family vacations. It devastated me when my husband would take the children on a trip without me. I felt so guilty and worthless. I never thought in a million years I would be where I am today. You can get better. I know because I am living proof. I could go on and on about Cynthia Ashley but there just arenít enough words to express my gratitude. All I know is that she understands what you are going through and she knows how panic can control your life.î Thanks, V.G. (Reprinted with permission of the author. ( I had a tear in my eye over this one!) For the records, I am just the instrument. She did all the work! She created her own recovery! Great going V.G!!
